In this article I answer your questions about Bhutanese girls.
Okay, maybe not YOUR questions…unless your name is Jacob and you sent me an email yesterday. But even if your name is not Jacob and you’ve never sent me an email, you might also be interested in Bhutanese women.
In case you are, this article is for you.
Let’s find out if dating one of the women in the happiest country in Asia is easy, painful, or simply impossible…
1. Where the Hell is Bhutan?
That’s a good question.
Even though my father studied geography, I don’t know the difference between the Alps and the Grand Canyon. Do you really think I know where Bhutan is?
Thank God there’s Google Maps for idiots like me…
No matter where you are, Bhutan is far, far away from you. This tiny country is located deep in the Himalayas, bordered by India to the south and by China to the north.
But even though this country is located in the Himalayas you can’t complain about the temperature.
The advantage is obvious:
15-30 degrees Celsius allow you to figure out pretty quickly if a woman is slim or overweight because you don’t need to guess what’s under the thick jacket.
2. Where Can I Find Bhutan Girls for Marriage?
In Bhutan!
You can find beautiful Bhutanese girls in Thimphu, Phuntsholing or in any other metropolitan cities in Bhutan. Okay, that was a joke. There are no metropolitan cities in this country. Even the biggest city has fewer inhabitants than Pattaya.
So, go ahead and fly to Bhutan to meet beautiful girls!
Or wait a second!
Is it really worth risking your life BEFORE you meet the right girl?
Bhutan is known for its dangerous airports and it would be a shame if you died before chatting and connecting with beautiful Bhutanese girls.
Just have a look at how many of them are looking for a boyfriend or husband on this Asian dating site…
More than 150!
You might want to check out my AsianDating review before you book your flight.
3. Do Bhutanese Girls Understand Me?
I live in Asia and I know how frustrating it can be to talk to Asian girls online. You write a long (and not so creepy) first message and all you get as a reply is this:
“Thank you. I like. Want meet.”
After the third reply you pray to God that he will have mercy with you and that the next girl has the ability to speak English. You don’t need to pray if you’re looking for Bhutanese girls for marriage.
Even though the official language of Bhutan is Dzongkha, most people can speak English. Even the national newspaper is written in English and in the local language.
The girls want to meet you and they will understand you.
What are you waiting for?
4. Is it Easy to Date a Girl in Bhutan?
I know what you’re waiting for.
You want to know if it’s easy to date Bhutanese girls. You want to know if it’s as easy as in the Philippines.
Sorry, but I have to disappoint you…
- It’s easy to find a wife who dreams of a traditional family life.
- It’s also easy to find a girl who doesn’t care about your religion because 75% of them are Buddhists and 25% are Hindus.
- - It’s also not difficult to find an open-minded girl because casual sex and polygamy are legal and not stigmatized.
It's not that easy
However, marriages between foreign men and Bhutanese women are discouraged. Once a girl decides to marry you, she gets banned from civil service positions and can’t get government scholarships.
But I guess you don’t care about that because you don’t want to live in Bhutan. You won’t have any of these problems when you take your bride to your home country.
5. Am I Ready for My First Night Hunting Trip?
You’re in Bhutan and not in a Twilight movie. But that doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy night hunting. I don’t say that the girls won’t be weirded out when suddenly a foreign guy stands in front of their house…but you can try.
Night hunting is a wildly common and still practiced tradition where men go from house to house and knock on the windows of girls. Once she lets the guy in...come on, you know what happens next.
Just don’t get her pregnant...
Happy night hunting!
Summed Up Wisdom
Where the hell is Bhutan? And how the hell can I meet and date these girls?
I answered these and other questions in this article. But I know that you only scrolled down to the bottom of the page because you want a preview. So, here you go:
You can find beautiful Bhutanese girls on the largest Asian dating site and yes, you need to read the article to find out which one it is (come on, it’s really short). Oh, and it’s easy to meet open-minded (also sexually) and family-oriented Bhutanese girls, but the government makes it hard for you to marry her, at least when you want to stay in Bhutan.
But night hunting should be fun. Try it out.

I’m a Bhutanese girl, now living in Australia.Back home, everyone who went to school speaks fluent English, in-fact we find English more easy than our own national language. Everyone’s very modern in towns, are well travelled and they love apple gadgets. We grow up watching hollywood movies and looking up to white people. Women do find Caucasian men attractive but there’s this stereotypical notion that white men have extremely huge dicks and are also extremely sexual which are very intimidating to small Bhutanese ladies. And also they always presume white guys to be naturally wealthy, which is true compared to third world country like Bhutan. Only some of the women are attractive in Bhutan and for me, I find men way less attractive over there. Now that I’m in Australia, I’m more attracted to white and half white men. They are pleasant to look at and also very understanding and sexually liberated. Well at the end, it all comes down to one’s own preferences. Don’t go to Bhutan expecting a submissive, sweet, beautiful girl and be disappointed. It all comes down to compatibility and fate. All the best.
you are most wecome to my small and peaceful country, sir
Enjoy your trip!
I come to bhutan on March 1 for marathon which on March 3 we live to a friend see all beauty of bhutan and happiness index
Make it come true.
Someday I would like to go to Bhutan and stay as guest for free, because I want to stay for months, do retreats and maybe find a wife. I am latino.
Not everyone loves us 😛
Oh! Yeah I forgot to tell you about the night hunting which is mostly prevalent in the countryside of Bhutan. This sort of practice was at its peak in the older days meaning it has diminished a lot than it used to.
Well…first time to read a piece on Bhutanese women by a white man. I am sure there are other articles but this is my first article whatsoever. By the way I am from Bhutan and I am not really actrracted to white men.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Being in a relationship with a Bhutanese woman I can give you a bit input into this whole topic. First of all there are three major issues you will have to deal with.
First, Bhutan follows a very stric tourism policy. As they put a huge emphasis on evironmental protection which is second to none in Asia, they give their best to avoid mass tourism by charging you 200 dollars (260 dollars in main season) PER DAY. Okay, it includes hotel, dining and getting around with a travel guide (see issue two), but nevertheless it will cost you a lot. In one week you will be more than a thousand euros poorer – and we haven’t even included the flight. A ten day trip including flight will easily cost you 3000 bucks.
Second, it is mandatory for you to have a travel guide who will take you around in his car. You cannot travel alone in this country – at least officially. It will depend on your travel guide whether he lets you enjoy an evening by yourself. Usually that should be no problem, because he wants to spend time with his family too. It would be the best thing to get in contact with your travel guide before your trip. If you are lucky your guide will be a family man. If you tell him you want as much free time for yourself as possible you will give him the opportunity to spend time with his family. In a worse case you get a single who takes his job serious. Then you might be in for big brother dating. However, never travel bigger distances alone. The main roads are being coltrolled by the military. You don’t want to get caught without a travel agent there – you would be in big trouble!
Third, not all people in Bhutan are Bhutanese. The government is denying certain people whose families migrated to Bhutan their citizenship. Those people from Nepal got their citizenships revoked back in 1985. You might end up with a stateless person. If at least one person in their family is genuine Bhutanese, they can get a Green Travel Document. However, it depends on your country whether it will allow your girlfriend to enter with that document! Be careful, you can potentially end up in a heartbreaking romance in this country, if you fall in love with a person that your country might not allow to enter. And official marriage in Bhutan is denied to those poor people as well. Gross National Happiness? Only with citizenship. If the girl of your dreams owns a Citizenship ID card, you will have no problem as she enjoys all the rights this country has. You should make sure quickly whether she has got an ID card.
Bhutan is like no other Asian country. People might be poor, yet it is one of the cleanest countries in the world. Compared to India, where almost every city looks like a shithole, this is heaven on Earth. I have never ever seen a bigger difference by crossing a border than between India and Bhutan. If you visit Phuentsholing, take a look into the Indian part of the city (which is named Jaigaon). You won’t believe the difference you see.
Nevertheless, if you are after a romance with an exotic Bhutanese woman, stick to Thimphu. It is the only place where you find some Western lifestyle, although everything is smaller in general. Outside Thimphu, most people are living in the countryside and have basically nothing but their piece of land. You might find pretty girls in the countrside as well, but you won’t do them a favor by taking them into a Western city. Not to mention how you want to get into contact with them when they spend all their life at the farm.
Bhutnaese people are very calm and avoid conflict whereever it is possible. They endure even the worst injustices – e.g. that citizenship issue – with an incredible acceptance as they believe that everything is guided by karma and fate. However, sexually this country is surprisingly liberal – having sex with a foreigner is also seen as a result of karma. Everything is accepted. But for dating only Thimphu will be a good hunting ground. Maybe in Phuentsholing as well, but that place is very hot (tropical climate!), whilst Thimphu has got a pleasant moderate climate due to its altitude. And the closeness to India is not an advantage in my eyes.
If you are in this country, also learn about the culture. It will give you an incredible sense of peace and calmness and a new view into life. But it comes to a big price money-wise.
Oh you would be surprised how many Filipinas would date a man as long as she is his first girl. But that’s not the point. All I wanted to say is that there are traditional women AND polygamy is not illegal. I didn’t mind to match these two together.
Awesome! All the best!
i am a black man from the U.S.A I would like to teach english i another country.i am working on my T.E.FL
I don’t understand how you can be family oriented and tolerant toward poligamy and casual sex in the same time…in the Philipines for example women are extremely family oriented, therfore they wouldn’t let you have sex with an other woman since that would put the traditional family structure in danger.
