Listen while you read:
There is power in love.
It hunts you in your dreams. You can’t get it. You are too far away. It is out of your reach. You think it is. You don’t know it. You just think.
You think you are not meant to feel love, to be loved. Being in love is weird anyway. You are a man. You don’t talk about love. You don’t need it. You never wanted it. You can live without it. You are strong.
You cry.
You have never been in love. You replaced this ludicrous feeling. You replace it with stuff. With stuff you don’t need. You have Netflix. Who needs love, you ask. Nobody, you conclude.
You feel empty. What do you do? More stuff. You deny. You suppress. You ignore. You don’t need love. Nobody needs it.
Then you meet her. She is different. Sleeping with her is great, but different. The conversations are no longer a means to an end. They are the adventure. They invigorate you. Her face is more than beautiful lips to kiss. It’s a reason to cry tears of joy.
Love has you. It is finally there. What about the years of denial? They are gone. You didn’t need love. Now you have it. You are happy. You are happier than ever before. She is beautiful. Your love is beautiful. Everything is beautiful.
She is perfect. Everything is perfect. She laughs about your jokes. You love to listen to her voice. You love to hold her. She loves to snuggle up to you. Perfect. Everything. You are flying.
The Power of Love Can Destroy You
You are falling. She doesn’t laugh about all your jokes. She has her own opinion. You have a different opinion. Her skin is not porcelain. She is human. You recognize it. You are shocked. You demand perfection. She is human. You don’t get perfection.
The perfection is perfectly imperfect.
Others are staring. She dresses up. She is beautiful. Others think that too. Why does everyone look at her? She must enjoy it. You don’t want that. You confront her. She doesn’t understand. You don’t understand. You feel anger. You want to keep her. You push her away.
The door opens. She walks through it. You scream. You make it worse. She has enough. She has packed her bags. The illusion is falling apart. The game is over. You wanted her forever. You have her for another thirty seconds. She is gone. You are devastated.
You were right. You are sure that you were right. You were right from the beginning. You don’t need love. Love is bad. Love hurts. Nobody needs love. She is gone. She is gone forever.
You cry.
Life sucks. You drink. You smile. You feel empty. You are embittered. You hate your life. You have enough. The pills are ordered. This has to end.
You don’t want to do it. You can’t do it. It’s not easy. You search one last time. You search for an answer. You stay up the whole night. It’s dark. Your heart is dark. You need an answer. Fast. Now. You find something.
You read. You listen. You absorb. The blueprint is there. Everything is there. Help is near. The sleeping pills? In the trash. You don’t need them. You are ready to improve. You are ready to conquer.
The Power of Love Can Heal You
You are ready to fall in love.
You imagine her. You imagine your relationship. Everything is beautiful. Not perfect, but beautiful. You imagine the relationship. No, no perfection. Just love, unconditional love. The support you need. The love you need.
You want it. You do everything. You challenge yourself. You push your boundaries. You are ready to survive. You are ready to thrive. You learn. You fail. You stand up. You try again. You improve. You accomplish.
You made it. You made it to the top. You have the skills. You have the knowledge. You have the mindset. You are indestructible. You are finally ready to give love and to receive love.
You need love. You want it. Then you meet her. She is different. Sleeping with her is great, but different. The conversations are no longer a means to an end. They are the adventure. They invigorate you. Her face is more than beautiful lips to kiss. It’s a reason to cry tears of joy.
Love has you. It is finally there. What about the years of learning and improving? They were worth it. You needed them. You needed them all the time. You are happy. You are happier than ever before. She is beautiful. Your love is beautiful. Everything is beautiful.
She is perfect. Everything is perfect. She laughs about your jokes. You love to listen to her voice. You love to hold her. She loves to snuggle up to you. Perfect. Everything. You are flying.
The perfection is perfectly imperfect.
You cry…tears of joy.
Will you fall again?
