The following online dating tips for men are unconventional but they work.
The only reason why I decided to write this article is because I’m sick and tired of all the senseless gibberish that so-called dating gurus try to sell you as online dating advice.
"Just be yourself"
"Don’t be too direct"
“Giver her enough time to reply”
If you follow the advice of many mainstream magazines, you just have to be yourself (whatever the hell that means), wait in front of your laptop until she finally replies after 12 hours and chat with her for 21 weeks before you mention that you are interested in her.
Sorry, but that’s not how it works. The real world is different.
Even though online dating is a fun and easy way to get to know beautiful women from all over the world, it can also be a big waste of time, money, and brain cells.
That’s why you need to know what really works…
1. Realize that Most Online Dating Tips for Men are Harmful
Have a look at the three “tips” that I shared with you a couple of lines above.
Look at them, forget them, and please don’t follow them.
I think it is obvious why “just be yourself” is the worst advice you can possibly give. Of course, being yourself works, but only if you developed into someone who knows how to attract women.
What’s wrong with the advice to not be too direct?
Well, it’s called online dating and not online small talk.
The reason why you and thousands of other men and women join an online dating site is because you want to meet a partner. Unless you tell a woman what you are looking for without beating around the bush, they won’t respect you, let alone date you.
When I read the advice that you should give a woman a lot of time to reply, I thought back to all the hours that I wasted waiting for replies that never came. Replying to a text message takes about three seconds. If she doesn’t want to invest three seconds, she’s not interested in you and you should move on.
Another dating coach wrote that you should try to fit in and not stand out. That’s obviously the best advice ever, especially when you think about the fact that you compete with millions of men who follow the same advice.
Now that you know what not to do, it’s time to find out what to do…
2. Stop Asking Yourself “Should I Try Online Dating?”
Okay, not yet.
Let’s first have a look at a few other things that you should not do.
One of these things is asking yourself this ridiculous question: “should I try online dating?”
Unless you live in a small town in Siberia (how are you reading this article?), the answer is always yes, yes and hell yeah. It’s the year 2017 and as long as you have an internet connection, you should try online dating.
In fact, trying is the wrong word.
If you don’t have an account on an online dating site you are already 10 years behind.
Have a look at some of my international dating site reviews and…
3. Stop Reading Online Dating Horror Stories
My vision is to help Western men to find love abroad.
I don’t make a secret of it. I mean, that’s why this site is called Global Seducer and that’s also why I test so many international dating sites for you. I can proudly say that I already helped a lot of men to find the foreign woman of their dreams.
But every once in a while I receive an email like this:
“Hey Sebastian, I really love your site. I read your review and signed up on FilipinoCupid. I already chatted with a few cute girls and one of them wants to meet me in Cebu next week. I really want to meet her but I’m so scared that I will end up like guy X in story Y that I read in mainstream magazine Z.”
International dating is not socially accepted. It shouldn’t come to a surprise that almost all stories about international dating that are published by mainstream magazines are horror stories. And yes, you can get scammed. I don’t deny that.
What the mainstream media doesn’t tell you is that you can only get scammed if you allow it.
Think about it.
What does the headline “American Man Got Scammed Out Of $1.000 by a Thai Bar Girl” really say?
It says: “American Man Was Dumb Enough to Send Money to a Prostitute He Has Never Met”
Use your common sense and you don’t need to worry about anything. What do I mean by that? Well, if you send naked pictures of yourself and money to women you don’t know, you don’t have to wonder why you get scammed.
4. Start Reading Online Dating Success Stories
You can find some of them on my site.
I share a few testimonials on my homepage. These testimonials are from guys who met their girlfriends because they read my site. You can also have a look at my Filipino Cupid review. I’m responsible for three relationships between Americans and Filipinas and I’m damn proud of it.
Reading success stories of other men who found their girlfriends on a dating site can be extremely motivating. It’s definitely better than wasting your time reading online dating horror stories that you will never experience.
5. Choose the Right Online Dating Service
It’s not easy to choose, especially when you have hundreds of dating sites to choose from. But I’ll make it easier for you.
Like I said, this site is about international dating. And even though there are some really good mainstream dating sites, such as Flirt.com, I am obviously a big fan of international dating and not without a reason.
You probably already know that I met my girlfriend on ThaiCupid.com.
You might also know that I believe that relationships between Western men and traditional foreign women are a match made in heaven.
I’ve tested and reviewed enough international dating sites to know that this is true. Feel free to choose one of them and to start your international dating journey today.
6. The Best Online Dating Profile Tip for Guys is to Stand Out from the Crowd
Do you really want to be like everyone else?
Everyone else is boring and women know that. No woman wakes up in the morning and thinks that it would be really nice to meet an average guy with beige pants who lives an average life and watches the average 5 hours of TV every day.
Women want visionaries, mavericks, and adventurers. They want to date guys with an edge. They want to be with someone who is more exciting than the average Joe.
The girl of your dreams wants you to stand out from the crowd.
What does that mean in the online dating world?
- She wants a man who actually takes the time to fill out his profile.
- She wants a man who reveals one or two emotional secrets.
- She wants a man who doesn’t upload a profile picture that shows him with a beer bottle or flexing his abs.
Be different and she’ll respond differently.
7. My Online Dating Safety Advice: Dick pics are Not Cool
I mentioned it before but I have to mention it again because I know that some of you (maybe not you, but someone) will do this:
- Chat with a girl online
- Think that her “I really like talking to you” means “I want to sleep with you right now”
- Send her a dick pic
- Send me an angry email with the subject line “online dating sucks!”
Believe it or not, but just because dick pics work in porn movies and maybe on some swinger forums doesn’t mean that they work on normal dating sites where women are looking for a boyfriend or husband.
Leave the snake in your pants and keep your camera at least five meters away from it. That’s all I have to say.
8. Don’t Even Think About Using Online Dating Pickup Lines
I dare you.
Don’t even think about sending crap like this to women, especially not in the first message…
- Would you marry me?
- Damn girl, you are so sexy, I want to eat you out tonight!
- I love chocolate! (when you text black girls)
These are just a few examples of terrible pickup lines that girls I know have received from guys who have no clue about women. It’s sad but I’m sure that some of the men who send verbal diarrhea like that are decent guys.
They just don’t know any better…or they translate word for word what their hormones are telling them, which is not a good idea.
Always remember that your hormones want to do something right now that she wants to do after the third date.
9. There’s Only One Online Dating Tip for the First Message: Personalize
“But what should I write when I can’t use a pickup line?”
That’s a good question and the answer to this question is not “hey”. From 100 messages that a girl gets, 83 contain just one word…hey.
The best opening line for online dating is not what your hormones tell you, but what you see with your own eyes.
You look at her profile and at her pictures and use the information to write your first message
You don’t just tell her that she is beautiful. You give her a compliment about her green eyes and the blue dress she’s wearing on her second picture.
You don’t just tell her that you are interested in her. You tell her that you are interested in her BECAUSE you also love to watch Adam Sandler movies (Oh God, really?!).
10. Don’t Write What You Think She Wants to Hear
The moment you write what you think she wants to hear, you lose.
Women are emotional, way more emotional than men. For her it takes not more than three messages to figure out if what you write is honest or if you just try to impress her. She knows when you are full of shit.
The Problem is that what you think she wants to hear is not what she really wants to hear.
But what does she want to hear?
- She wants to know what you think.
- She wants to know how you feel about certain things.
- She wants to know what you are interested in.
Yes, women love to talk but they want to talk to men they are interested in. And she can only be interested in you when you give her the chance to get to know YOU and not some fake artificial you that doesn’t exist.
11. Successful Online Dating is All About Asking the Right Questions
She wants to get to know you and you want to get to know her.
It can’t get any better.
Unfortunately, a lot of guys (I was guilty of this in the past) confuse getting to know each other with sending smileys and “hey, what are you up to today?” messages.
Sorry, but that’s small talk and even though smileys can trigger an emotional reaction, it’s not enough to create a deep emotional bond with a woman.
You need to talk about deep topics in order to create a deep emotional bond. And there’s no better way than to ask her the right questions.
12. You Need to Ask for the First Date
There’s no way around it.
In case you want some kind of weird virtual relationship without touching, kissing and other physical activities that are part of a healthy relationship, you can skip this step. If you, however, want a real relationship, you need to ask her on a date.
And no, slurping Champagne while talking to each other on Skype doesn’t count.
What do you need to get her on a date?
You need the confidence to ask her out.
13. One More Online Dating Tip for Your Success: Don’t Give Up
Just one more online dating tip and I promise I’ll shut up.
Here it is:
Don’t give up!
It might take up to 10 minutes until you find a girl on an international dating site who wants to go on a date with you. It might take up to 10 weeks until you find a girl on a mainstream dating site who wants to go on a date with you.
No matter how long it takes, keep on going.
It has never been easier to meet women from all around the world who are looking for a man like you. Online dating sites are a gift from heaven.
Only a fool would not take this chance.
Summed Up Wisdom
Most online dating tips for men are harmful…especially when you believe that being direct is bad and that waiting three hours for a reply makes you a chivalrous gentleman. Oh and stop asking yourself “should I try online dating?” The answer is yes.
Instead of wasting your time with online dating horror stories, you should have a look at success stories. They might inspire you to choose the right dating service and to show the girls that you are different than the millions of other men who send them boring “hey” messages.
You are looking for online dating tips for men because you want to meet girls online. Then prepare yourself for deep conversations and for your first date. Sooner or later you have to take your virtual girlfriend on a real date.
